The city of Blue Forest is the setting for the homoerotic fiction series Blue Forest by K. M. Hirosaki. An industrial urban dystopia, slightly futuristic, chracterised by a permanent sense of gloom and hopelessness. It is distinct from Maranatha City, from Osfer's Maranatha series in that it is dark, rather than bleak, oppressive rather than empty.
The city itself is something of a semi-autonomous city-state that is not part of any province of the nation that it belongs to.
