FurryCon is a Swedish convention which will be held for the first time September 18-20 2009 in Karlstad. The venue has not been named by the con chair, but it has been stated that it is in the same building as a bowling alley and Sweden's largest indoor playland.[1]
The convention is arranged by a number of furries from the area, originally with Ringo and Kirrow as co-chairs. Due to disagreements between the two co-chairs as well as between Ringo and members of Swedish furry forum SveaFur, Kirrow later became sole con chair.
FurryCon's rules state that no drugs, including alcohol, are allowed at the convention, nor is any adult material, making it a clean con.
Programming
FurryCon's preliminary programming mentions a fursuit showing, a café, some form of dealer's room, a drawing area, movie screenings, a video game area and bowling in or out of fursuit. How much space will be available for each activity is as of yet unclear. Svenska Furries Forum user mickel has also tentatively offered to run a role-playing campaign.[2]
Charity
The convention will be collecting money for Djurskyddet Karlstad (Karlstad Animal Welfare), a local shelter.
