Goons are members of the Something Awful forums. Although it is not proven, goons and trolls both do much the same kinds of acts which include launching personal attacks, defaming a subject or event, stirring up trouble in communities, fandoms, and other such crap. In other words, they are internet users.

Their actions are normally seen as posts on a message board, but also has been seen on wikis like this one where the work they do concerns editing and defacing invalid articles to suit their much apparent hatred of a given subject or joke of a community. However, this kind of "check" to the furry fandom probably isn't a horrible thing.

However, most non "Stupid Newbie" Goons do have a sense of humor.
