Arrow the Porcupine is a Sonic the Hedgehog fan-character created by the artist HAJiME.
Creation and Development
Arrow the Porcupine first appeared on the Internet in early 2004 and HAJiME marks his birth date at the 19th of February. His creation was inspired by the works of other Sonic the Hedgehog fan artists at the time, particularly PinkyFreak and her lion character Cyanide. HAJiME claims that a porcupine was the obvious choice when creating a Sonic-styled character and has always emphasised that the character should be as true to the official style as possible whilst still being original. His entire ethos within the Sonic fan-character community was about being both obvious and clever in the portrayal of personality stereotypes with the aid of anthropomorphism. This was something he was criticised for in apparently encouraging undeveloped and unoriginal characters within the fandom.

In late 2005 http://arrowtheporcupine.co.uk opened for a short while along with http://HAJiME.co.uk. Both websites closed later the same year.
Role Play
Arrow the Porcupine was played by HAJiME regually on Sonic Zone Forum[1] and Neo South Island[2] (formally "Green Visions") throughout 2004-2006.
