Dr. Sergey V. Zubkov, who uses the nickname Cubbi, was born in Moscow but is now living in the U.S.A. He is recognized as one of the creators of the Russian furry community, through creation and maintainance of the FidoNet Echoconference RU.TOON where the first russian furries found each other in 1995, and through active, mostly financial, participation in the first RusFurrences. He has been visiting U.S.A. on occasions, and finally moved in 2002, having completed his PhD in Organic Chemistry. Cubbi currently resides on Long Island and attends I-CON, Anthrocon, Cape May Furmeet, and Furfright every year.
Cubbi is also the creator and webmaster of the Long Island Furs webpage.
He and Mae Francois were married on March 25, 2007.
Characters
- Cubbi is an eight year old pink bear cub, originally based on the character of the same name from Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears. He spent a lot of time with other furries and grew particularly fond of large cats, so he can usually be seen sporting a fake black panther tail (much like the one his player wears at furry conventions). Cubbi is not a babyfur in the common sense of the word, since he is way out of the diaper age. He is adventurous and mischievous, he refuses to go to school or, in fact, have anything to do with civilization, and lives in the forest, insisting on being a "wild forest panther". He often gets into fights and all sort of trouble. Cubbi appears on various MUCKs and IRC channels every single day since june 1995.
- Muzzi is an eight year old green bear cub, created in 1992 as a part of Gummi Bears based fan fiction. Since then she has been a rare accidental character. Muzzi's personality is similar to Cubbi's (except for no fake tail), although sometimes she delves a little too far into her own imagination and her babbling makes very little sense to the onlookers.
